Jillian C. York, Director for International Freedom of Expression

Jillian is currently Director for International Freedom of Expression at the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) in San Francisco, where her work focuses on a range of related issues, including government Internet filtering, export controls, surveillance technology, and bloggers' rights.

Her writing on free expression and related topics has been published by the Guardian, Index on Censorship, the Atlantic, Bloomberg Views, Foreign Policy, Nieman Reports, the Cairo Review of Global Affairs, and Al Akhbar English, among others. She writes regular columns for Al Jazeera English and PBS MediaShift.
