Jan Flodin is a member of the Internet Society, where he served at the board of the Internet Society Sweden Chapter between 2007 and 2012. He is currently also a policy adviser to the .SE Registry (the Internet Infrastructure Foundation). Jan has, since 1979, worked for the Defence Materiel Administration (FMV, a Government Agency) with Telecom, Data communication and Command and Control Systems. In 1994, he initiated and lead the transition to "TCP/IP", with an encrypted router network for the Nation-wide Strategic Defence Communications Network, soon to be followed by a tactical router network. Jan became division manager and Chief Engineer in 1990. From 2004 he also engaged in the preparation for IPv6 inclusion into the Armed Forces IP structure. He retired in 2009. He is also a member of IEEE, AFCEA and the C4 Society.
