Nick Wood is the Managing Director of Com Laude, a domain management company dedicated to assisting IP owners to protect their marks across the internet and of Valideus, a consultancy that is advising a limited number of Dot Brand applicants on their new gTLD applications.
Nick is active within the ICANN community: he was one of the three European Members of the IRT, the team of IP experts appointed by the ICANN Board to recommend measures to protect IP in the new gTLD process and he wrote The Perfect Sunrise booklet and created the presentation on “The Application Questions” which have become part of ICANN’s core new gTLD materials. He was a founder member of the Intellectual Property Constituency of ICANN and also chaired the ICANN IP consultation day in London in 2009.
Nick is a Council Member of MARQUES, the European Association of Brand Owners and has lectured extensively on internet/IP matters. He is on the Editorial Board of Managing Intellectual Property, is a guest lecturer at Queen Mary’s College, the University of London and has written widely on domain name matters as well as acting as the joint editor of Sweet & Maxwell’s “Domain Names: Global Practice & Procedure”.
