Cyber Conflict Escalation Exercise Part 1

Plats: Rum C3 plan 2
Datum: 2012-10-24
Tid: 13:20-14:40

(This session will be held in english)

The Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI) will be hosting the Cyber Conflict Tabletop Exercise, developed by a diverse team of cyber security professionals from across the globe. The purpose of the tabletop exercise is to highlight the need for leveraging relationships and fostering collaboration in order to strengthen the cyber security posture of the international community. Collaboration, which will lead to integration, between public and private entities should be at the forefront of our concerns, and this exercise will stress the importance of having well established relationships prior to the occurrence of an incident.

In the tabletop exercise CSFI will present three scenarios, all of which are realistic and are items of concern. The scenarios will cover an attack on critical infrastructure, an attack on command and control infrastructure and an attack on the financial support infrastructure of three different nations. Each scenario will lead to in-depth discussions on issues of collaboration, communication, development of appropriate response policy, recovery efforts and issues of jurisdiction and legality of response for both sovereign nations and international organizations such as NATO, the UN, and the EU.

Following the completion of the tabletop exercise, CSFI will publish a Lessons Learned document will be freely available to the international community and will include shortfalls that have been identified from exercise scenarios, with recommended solutions.
